My meeting with God (and Goddesses too)

For those who died reading the title(coming from me), my condolences, for the ones who survived, read on..its not a funny post tho!

To start, family discovers that they have been going to an assumed native God rather than the original native God, they decided to embark on a pilgrimage to meet with actual native God(Goddess actually) so off we go..

Sun afternoon 2 PM - Journey begins

6 hrs to Chidambaram - got to drive a tempo traveller for a few mins - one cheap thrill achieved

8:30 PM - Entered Chidambaram, right on time for the last "darshan" at the chidambaram temple - head facing upwards most of the time amazed by the intricate architecture, every pillar trying to depict some story..lots of naked women too..curiousity kills the cat..went to old priest and asked him the point of filling the pillars with naked women around..symbolic explanation starts

"Son, in spite of all that around, look around and see how many ppl look at it..(had half a mind to say..me me!!but shut up)..the point is that inspite of carnal pleasures depicted all around, the focus of all ppl who come to pray are only on God's Idol..(well left delivery, waits for the next one)"

"And also God always had dancers around, Since it is a Shiva temple and with a history of dances and performances, the decorations are symbolic..history can be read from a book outside..(well defended, went straight out and bought myself a history book to read)"

9:30 PM - off to the hotel in Vaideeshwaran Kovil(Shiva Temple) , that is the name of the town itself (derived from the temple situated there, amazing!!) super rooms

11:30 PM - dads encounter with the Ghost in the room - Bed starts jumping up and down when he was about to doze off, thought he was dreaming woke up, read..

12:00 AM - nearly dozes off again, bed starts jumping again..gets up looks under bed, nothing there, so quietly comes and joins me, later finds out in the morning that all the cables in our factory burnt at about that time, major fire averted - co-incidence or real, Ripley's believe it or not!

5:00 AM - to the temple of health!(Vaideeshwaran temple - known that way because Shiva cures a leper/deaf and dumb person in the temple after a dip in its holy tank..you could take a dip there if you wanted to become a leper and deaf and dumb, its that clean..but that apart, head gazing all around again, even more amazing architecture..time for another history book, which i eventually forgot there, now im cured of all my diseases!!

9:00 AM - Drive starts in search of Native Goddess, Kali herself! Roads full of paddy, Tempo gets stuck, half hour wasted in pulling weeds out of tyres and bottom, driver pissed with the farmers says "indha oor janangal ku romba thimuru..(translates to the ppl of this place are very vain).. i guess he didnt realise that all the ppl sitting inside were from that ooru!

10:30 AM - Reach Kali Temple(little itsy bitsy thing on the road, so didnt need to look up to appreciate architecture) waited patiently for ppl to finish with their prayers, was peeking in to the police station next door, with men in white settling a dispute, tamil movie style with one man reading out the verdict and all the ppl sitting and waiting, damn cool!

12:30 PM - Great Great Grandfather house, now this is a house i would love to own!! amazing house beautifully constructed and as big as three houses in my street put together.. constructed completely with teak..but funny part comes..Maami(old aunty) there walks up to me, "enna vuyaram nee..(whats your height)..im like 6"..seri un kitta enna pechu, amma enga(why am i talking to you, where is your mother?) ..enna ma, un payan ku kalyanam paakaaramichaachaa, enna vayasu avanukku, en vittu ponnu irruka..(have you started looking for marriage for your son, how old is he, there is a girl in my house)..by then im already rolling with laughter in my head and looking at my moms expression is even better, shes like why him? but she cant say it, and shes like hes not interested, he wants to study more or something to that effect.. and we headed out of there at the speed of light!

Part two of this adeventure later i think this is apost which ppl will ignore already any longer and i might as well write a book on it :)

Heyyy! Nice Blog BUDDIEEE! Ok I'll cut that crap out. Naked Women.....well they can't quite smuggle a Playboy into a temple, hiding it under their dhoti can they? Just so you know...I DID try this once on my Upanayanam day, it's it's really hard...you can't keep the Playboy and your dhoti up a the same time!...ok now seriously come to think og it...I'm sure the artist must be inspired by someone right? You saw any painting resembling a Playboy bunny??????
