I was watching tv quite aimlessly for a while today..and guess what was the biggest national news today covered for nearly two hours live in all channels(im talking the biggest news channels NDTV, TIMES Now CNN India and so on)
Little boy falls into tube well, and is rescued after 60 hrs..AMAZING!!!
As far as i know, it is probably worth mentioning in a headline or something, but a two hour national coverage live of an operation which mainly focused on a hole and some ppl going in and out(for the dirty minds like me..has nothign to do with what you are thinking!!)
I wonder whats with the media today, are they running out of news?? or is it yet another "American" influence of making everything seem absolutely exaggerated, like the red alert all the time!I swear i saw a whole live coverage there on a kid(little lamb not human) caught in a wire mesh and ppl trying to free it for 45 mins!!!
I dont see a point to news when everything has to be "BREAKING NEWS" and then turns out to be a cow gettign stuck in a giraffe or something(bad example tho, i would love to see that!!:D) but news itself is becoming so "entertaining" for every inane activity that i see no actual analysis being made anymore! Everything is about selling today i guess, where a tsunami toll is a by liner and laloo yadav prasad announcing chai in a mud pot on trains makes a two hour show!

I saw this online but didnt really go ahead and read it.
As regards wht the media plays as news. We can very strongly sense tht the media now shows breaking news to divert attention in many instances and tht is if political guys have some control over media which they often have and they want people to focus on other things other than Gvmt crap....
Such a long coverage is cray man..I can take a bit of it but its not a breaking news..Sound slike a false alarm "Fox is coming, Fox is coming" "breaking News breaking news" so when some news is really breaking the world we will still think its silly thing! :)
you cannot believe how much of a shock it was when i saw that! i couldnt believe it!
especially with the situatton in lebanon!
And to make things worse, my DAD was fascinated by the stupid story and wouldnt change the channel.

*sigh. TOday 'breaking news' doesnt really mean 'breaking news'. its just another atention getting tactic. these childish TV channels!
i know, kid, u must be scared, hungry and FREAKED OUT, bt u are not really truly all that important at a national level.
The same thing happenned here a couple of years ago and we were put thru the same thing. so many gruelling hours of watching a rescue. I am glad they saved the child but we did not need to watch every minute of it.
I know! tell me about it...along with the story we had to hear the irritating commentary of the poor journalist who had nothing to say cause nothing was happening.. They went on about random stuff like the mother was wearing green and pink, the man clapped, a boy climbed the tree; the man on the roof is picking his nose! (Okay the last one was made up but you get the drift) I mean absolutely absurd!
And yesterday was reading the Bombay times! My god.... that’s journalism down the drain really... something about an actor liking red on mallika sharavat!
Okay boo I better stop or you will probably ask me to write my own blog! U already had to listen to me yesterday heh.. I think I'm just mad we missed the end after sitting tru the whole shit!

Should take 3 more days i guess.. and i was thinking on the same lines when all news i cud get the whole of yesterday from top news channels was the lil kid and the hole.. I don really understand, was the live coverage to boast off the efficacy of the rescue team to have saved the boy after a stunning 46 hours ???? and about the layout "comment" link goes invisible on mouse over.. Was it intentional or is there a color sync..? Its not too late before news channels would come to us for love stories and frustration at work .. :))
yup in fact it almost makes it funny..tho the lil boy wudnt agree.....guess because of the numeroous all-da-long news channels they just dunno wht to do!...

what i DO object to on the other hand is that manmohan singh gave the family a compensation of 1 lakh. what the fuck for? what did they do to deserve it?

oh well for one, ive always hated the news channels covering celebrity stuff,i think they would be better off on another channel.. but i guess ppl demand for that part for some reason, so it has become integral..but yea 1 lakh for what??im going to go fall ni one of thsoe wells too, me they would probably cover it with cement!!
